StudyColorado

StudyColorado, an initiative housed in the Colorado Department of Higher Education, will lead a delegation of Colorado higher education representatives to Mexico City the week of April 25. The visit deliberately aligns with a larger delegation visit led by the Biennial of the Americas.

The overarching goal of the StudyColorado delegation visit is to grow Colorado’s higher education brand. Under that broad goal, we have several key areas of focus: marketing Colorado’s institutions through the U.S. government and other partners in Mexico City; marketing Colorado’s institutions directly with students and parents; and exploring higher education partnerships with Mexican universities.

Curatorial WELCOME & Tour at Museo Jumex

Museo Jumex is Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo’s main platform. It opened its doors to the public in November 2013 as an institution devoted to contemporary art, whose aim was not only to serve a broad and diverse public, but also to become a laboratory for experimentation and innovation in the arts. Through its exhibitions and public programs, Museo Jumex aspires to become a relevant institution in the field of art by producing and co-producing original exhibitions and research, familiarizing our audiences with the concepts and contexts that inform current art practice. Through the use of critical and pedagogical tools, the museum’s educational programs further the institution’s commitment to build links between contemporary art and the public.

Exhibit: Urs Fischer: Lovers is a 20-year survey of Swiss-born conceptual artist. The exhibition is the first major presentation of Urs Fischer’s work in Mexico and will bring together works from international public and private collections and the artist’s own archive, alongside new pieces made for the museum. Together, they exhibit the wide-ranging creativity, humor, and depth of the artist’s practice.

Closing Celebration Dinner at Paxia feat. Doña Loca Tequila and Mezcal

We close out our week in Mexico City at Hotel Umbral’s rooftop overlooking Centro Histórico, savoring mango-dipped duck confit tacos and sipping on organic tequila and mezcal.

Paxia

Daniel Ovadía's first restaurant returns with a new place on the terrace of the Hotel Umbral in the Historic Center, but maintains the same concept of Mexican haute cuisine that made him famous. People missed it so much that the first dishes were the memory of the previous Paxia, but they remain the most requested, so in addition to having new options, those classics are maintained.

Doña Loca

Organic tequilas and artisanal mezcals from Mexico with love.

Doña Loca’s award-winning organic tequilas and artisanal mezcals are exceptionally smooth and pure, with a complex nose and flavor, full expression, and great taste. Inspiration for ‘Loca’ comes from the eponymous nickname of co-founder Dana Rodriguez, a Mexican native and James Beard-nominated Chef, who lends her passion for excellence, quality, and care for people to our spirits and our company.

We partner with small multi-generational, family-run distilleries in Mexico who use traditional techniques, ancestral recipes, and exclusively spring harvested agaves for a true ‘farm-to-bottle’ approach, resulting in our crazy smooth and delicious tequilas and mezcals we are proud to serve.
