Reid Shier

Reid Shier is the Director of The Polygon Gallery, North Vancouver, where he led the development of its new $20M facility, designed by Patkau Architects, which opened in 2017. Previously known as Presentation House Gallery, Shier has been Director since 2006. He previously held positions as Chief Curator of the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Toronto (2004-06), Curator of the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, (2002-04), and Director/Curator of the artist run Or Gallery, Vancouver, (1996-2002). Shier has curated over eighty exhibitions including Stan Douglas’ exhibition 2011 ≠ 1848, Canada’s representation at the 2022 Venice Biennale of Art.
