With 25 years of marketing and communications experience, Jim Licko brings a wide range of expertise to Denver-based marketing agency GFM|CenterTable including complex digital marketing campaigns, social media and digital strategy, crisis management, public education and engagement campaigns, media relations, and creative content development. GFM|CenterTable utilizes Jim’s diverse skill set in managing the day-to-day work of the agency and new business development, as well as with a variety of clients ranging from the outdoor and conservation space to government relations and ballot initiative campaigns.
Before joining GFM, Jim worked for Pete Webb Public Relations, where his responsibilities included managing the Colorado Department of Transportation’s statewide “Heat is On” drunk-driving and “Click It or Ticket” seat-belt safety programs and conducting an award-winning launch of The Inn at Auraria student housing facility in downtown Denver. He also tackled crisis and issues management situations ranging from land-use and water rights to complex legislative matters. During his time at Webb PR, Jim was particularly proud of his work managing media for both the groundbreaking and dedication of the Columbine Memorial, including a visit and remarks from former President Bill Clinton.
He started his career as a broadcast news reporter and later a sports reporter/anchor at KWWL-TV in eastern Iowa. Jim credits his time as a reporter for his ability to quickly understand and get up to speed on new client work. Jim is an active proponent of civic and community volunteerism, donating time and efforts to several Denver-area organizations including the Tennyson Center for Children, The Greenway Foundation, and the local chapter of Trout Unlimited. He is a proud graduate of the 2009 Denver Metro Chamber’s Leadership Denver program.
In his spare time, he can be found in the mountains enjoying the numerous outdoor and mountain activities of Colorado with his husky/collie mix and frequenting Coors Field during the summer months.
