Adeeb Khan
Executive Director | Denver Economic Development and Opportunity
Adeeb Khan serves as the executive director for Denver Economic Development and Opportunity. He was appointed to this role by Mayor Mike Johnston in 2023 and is collaborating with city, business and community leaders to build the best economy in the country. At the city, Adeeb is responsible for business development, workforce development, downtown economic revitalization, global business development and wealth building strategies. In past roles, Adeeb has served as an executive and senior leader in the private, philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. As executive director, of the Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation, Adeeb oversaw $30M in grantmaking and impact investments addressing health equity across the state. He simultaneously served as the chief brand and impact officer for Delta Dental of Colorado and led multiple departments including marketing, communication, ESG and external affairs. Prior to hist time at Delta Dental, He built award-winning corporate responsibility, inclusion & diversity, and ESG programming as the senior director of corporate social responsibility at TIAA. Additionally, he built multiple successful programs in the nonprofit sector while serving as a senior director at Mile High United Way and the American Red Cross.
He was appointed and is past chair for the Early Childhood Leadership Commission for the State of Colorado. He currently sits of the boards of Visit Denver, the Downtown Denver Partnership, the Denver Preschool Program, the Biennial of the Americas and the Daniels College of Business. He received a BA in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Southern California and an MBA with a concentration in corporate social Responsibility at the University of Denver. He is a graduate of the Leadership Denver class of 2017, has been recognized as a Downtown Champion by the Downtown Denver Partnership, a Chamber Champion by the Denver Metro Chamber, one of Denver’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Denver Business Journal, Community Changemaker of the Year by Colorado Youth for a Change and as a 9NEWS Leader of the Year Finalist.
