This year the Americas Leadership Luncheon celebrates the work and progress of leaders, trailblazers, and innovators from across the Americas with over 700 anticipated guests from civic, business, and cultural organizations.

Briana Scurry
Hall of Fame U.S. Goalkeeper, Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist, & World Cup Champion
Briana Scurry is one of the most influential goalkeepers in U.S. history, with 173 international appearances for the U.S. Women’s National Team, two Olympic gold medals, and a World Cup victory. Her legendary penalty kick save in the 1999 FIFA World Cup remains one of the most iconic moments in American sports.
A trailblazer as one of the first African American and openly gay professional athletes, Briana has broken barriers, championed equality, and inspired resilience across the Americas. After a career-ending concussion, she became a leading voice for brain injury awareness and continues to inspire through her memoir My Greatest Save and the CBS documentary The Only.
Her legacy is celebrated in the National Soccer Hall of Fame, the U.S. Women’s National Team All-Time Best XI, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Design researcher Manuela Garretón and sociologist Martín Tironi bring collaborative perspectives from Chile, exploring how communities adapt to innovation while rethinking sustainability, equity, and belonging. Tatiana Argüello is the President & General Manager of Telemundo Colorado (KDEN), a media executive with 25 years at Telemundo. She has held leadership roles in both Denver and New York, including Director of Northeast National Sales and Multicultural Lead for NBCUniversal’s Telemundo Station Group. Since returning to Colorado in 2019 to lead Telemundo Colorado, she has been recognized for driving growth, building high-performing teams, and developing innovative multicultural strategies that connect brands and audiences across platforms.
