WHAT ARE BIENNIAL ART INSTALLATIONS?

  • Biennial art installations are projects commissioned by the Biennial of the Americas that showcase artists from across the hemisphere. They take many forms—from site-specific works that transform public spaces to gallery-based exhibitions and wall installations—and invite audiences to experience contemporary art in new and engaging ways. Together, they reflect the Biennial’s mission to highlight diverse voices and connect communities throughout the Americas.

  • Art installations are woven throughout our programming. From major gatherings like the Americas Leadership Luncheon, where a new commissioned piece will debut, to community events and festival activations, art is an integral part of how we connect and celebrate across the Americas.

  • Artists are invited to participate in Biennial installations through commissions, open calls, and partnerships with our curatorial team. We collaborate with local, national, and international artists to create works that connect communities across the Americas. If you’re interested in being considered for future installations, keep an eye on our announcements, join our mailing list, or reach out to share your portfolio and ideas.
