Brigitte Sündermann is the Vice President for CMU Tech at Colorado Mesa University. Sündermann serves as a steward for the skilled trades that began as a child in her parents’ machine shop. It was also here that she learned the importance of strong partnerships with local and regional industry to remain relevant and responsive to workforce needs. Her leadership reflects a sustained commitment to innovation, community engagement, and student success.

Early in her career, Sündermann worked with the U.S. Department of Energy, contributing to environmental restoration initiatives while also consulting in land development as a civil engineer. Her career later brought her to CMU Tech as an instructor, a position that blended her technical expertise with a growing passion for teaching. This led to an opportunity as the Director of Manufacturing to Engineering Department Head and into her current role.

Colorado allowed her to pursue her lifelong interests in shoeing, training horses and ranching, endeavors that took her across Western Colorado and deepened her connection to the region’s rural and agricultural communities.
