Amy Friedman serves as US Senator Michael Bennet's Chief of Staff. She has been working with Senator Bennet since 2019 when she joined his team as the State Director in Colorado.
Prior to working for Senator Bennet, Amy served as the President & CEO of Book Trust, a national literacy organization serving low-income students and families. At her core, Amy is both a learner and educator. This comes from her time working in Denver Public Schools as a teacher and school district leader, including serving as the Chief of Staff to the Superintendent.
Amy is a passionate leader with more than two decades of experience in the public sector and federal government, helping organizations and people tackle their most challenging issues. Doing work that improves others' lives is Amy's guiding star.
Amy graduated from Georgetown with a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics in 1997 and a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language in 1998.
Amy loves exploring the world and the outdoor lifestyle Colorado offers. Amy lives in Denver with her husband and two teen aged children.
