Join us as we head to Arvada to explore the intersection of contemporary art and the American West.
We will be immersed in Tilting West, a large-scale group exhibition presented in partnership with Tilt West that reexamines the genre of the American West through a contemporary lens.
ABOUT ARVADA CENTER FOR THE ARTS & HUMANITIES: Located at 6901 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada, the Arvada Center is one of the region's premier multidisciplinary arts institutions, home to galleries, theaters, and educational programming that bring visual art, performance, and community learning together under one roof.
ABOUT TILTING WEST: Blending invited and juried artists from across the region, the exhibition includes 11 invited artists and 102 selected works chosen from 1,555 submissions by 335 artists. This exhibition presents a wide range of perspectives that engage with and challenge the traditions within Western art. Through fresh interpretations of place, identity, land, and culture, this exhibition explores how the mythology of the West continues to shape the present, inviting audiences to experience the region not as a fixed idea, but as a living and evolving landscape of histories, communities, and possibilities.
