Our next roundtable takes up one of the most urgent questions facing Denver and many urban cores right now: What does it actually take to make a city worth living in?

Inspired by the May 2026 SWOT Salon, where 60 creatives, artists, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders convened on the vacant 30th floor of 633 17th Street to imagine an arts-centered downtown core, this conversation picks up where that evening left off. The community has spoken. The question now is what structures — regulatory, spatial, economic — can turn those ideas into something durable.

This roundtable explores how adaptive reuse and Arts & Cultural Economic Zones can help create lasting space for Denver’s creative community. The conversation will look at how underused buildings, policy, development, and place-based investment can support artists, small businesses, and cultural organizations—while asking how Denver can ensure creatives remain meaningful partners in downtown’s future as the city grows and changes.
