About Campeón Gabacho
Based on Aura Xilonen's novel of the same name, bursting with stylization, magical realism and mucho heart. The film follows Liborio, an endearing and mischievous young migrant who crosses the Rio Grande to escape a harsh reality in Mexico, looking for a better life in the United States, he settles in a Latino barrio in New York City. His only talent turns out to be taking a punch, and it's through boxing, love, and language that he confronts the walls stacked against him and becomes an unlikely hero. Winner of the Audience Award at SXSW 2026, the film stars Juan Daniel García Treviño alongside Leslie Grace, Rubén Blades, Eddie Marsan, Rosario Dawson, and Cheech Marin.
