Join Culture Club in an exploration of the Aurora Cultural Arts District, Aurora’s only Colorado Creative Industries–certified Arts District, as we also highlight DAVA, a youth-centered arts organization supporting creative learning and expression.
About ACAD and DAVA:
The Aurora Cultural Arts District is Aurora's only Colorado Creative Industries certified Arts District. Located in the NW corner of the city, it focuses heavily on performing arts venues (The Aurora Fox Arts Center, Vintage Theatre, The People's Building, Roshni Is Light, 1400 Dallas, Manos Sagrados, Roaming Gnome, & the new Storyteller Theatre), global cuisine (Mango House, Stanley Marketplace), and youth & family programming (DAVA & MLK Library). A list of neighborhood events can found on their website; AuroraCulturalArtsDistrict.org.
Sept 4th is an especially fun day with 2 new murals being painted and live music and DJ's at district venues all over the neighborhood that evening.
Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA) provides arts education programs for urban youth ages 3 to 17 in Original Aurora, Colorado. Our mission is to strengthen the community through the visual arts with youth engagement as the primary focus. Every student that walks through our doors experiences the transformative power of high quality out-of-school programs that develop art, social, and life skills.
Guests can park in one of three FREE district lots. There are two lots directly behind The People's Building (9995 E Colfax Ave Aurora, CO 80010) and one directly behind the MLK Library (9898 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010)
