David Oppenheim is the Chief of Staff to Jared Polis, Governor of the State of Colorado. He assumed the role in September of 2024. In this position, Oppenheim serves as a key voice for the Polis Administration, acting as the chief advisor to the Governor and leading strategic initiatives to advance the Governor’s priorities.

During Governor Polis' second term, Oppenheim is focused on delivering the Bold 5 agenda, which includes: increasing housing availability, reducing healthcare costs, enhancing public safety to make Colorado a top ten safest state, and bolstering the state's renewable energy transition.

Before his current role, Oppenheim was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs, where he ensured the policy and legislative offices remained aligned with the Governor’s top priorities. During his tenure with the Governor, he's also served as Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs and Legislative Director.
