Frannie Matthews

Executive Producer, The Business of Colorado
Frannie Matthews is the Executive Producer of The Business of Colorado, a PBS12 series that explores Colorado's economic ecosystem. Prior to this role, she served as Interim President and General Manager of PBS12, guiding the organization through a leadership transition.
Before joining PBS12, Frannie was President and CEO of the Colorado Technology Association (CTA), where she strengthened the organization’s financial standing and expanded its reach. Her career in technology leadership spans nearly two decades at IBM, where she held numerous executive positions and ultimately served as IBM’s Senior Location Executive for Denver.
Frannie has held leadership roles in several regional and national organizations. She served as Vice-Chair of the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) and currently chairs the Operations and Finance Committee on the board of ActivateWork. Appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in 2016, Frannie served for eight years on the Colorado Workforce Development Council, contributing to statewide talent and economic development strategies.
The Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce named her one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Business” in 2020, and she received the Denver Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Women in Business. In recognition of her community impact, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston proclaimed December 31, 2023, as “Frannie Matthews Day.”
Frannie holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University.
