Heather has built a career at the Denver Art Museum, spending the last 20 years in various roles with a focus on interpretation, community engagement and access. In 2024, she became Deputy Director, responsible for providing strategic leadership and management to the Museum with oversight of key departments, initiatives and projects. The position focuses on fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, collaboration, and teamwork, enhancing the Museum's relationship with its diverse communities through dynamic programming and access initiatives. She oversaw the development and opening of the Bartlit Learning and Engagement Center, 10,000 square feet of community engagement space, and led a team of interpretive specialists through the process of reinstalling 10 galleries of art. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing community-driven museum initiatives that provide widely praised museum access opportunities, bilingual programming, artist in residency programs and major creative aging initiatives.
