Jacqueline Altreuter
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
Jacqueline Altreuter is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (DMNS), the Rocky Mountain region’s leading natural history museum and one of Colorado’s most visited cultural institutions. In this role, she oversees initiatives that drive the Museum’s strategic direction, civic partnerships, and inclusive community engagement, ensuring DMNS continues to serve as a trusted anchor for discovery and lifelong learning.
Jacqueline leads the development of the Museum’s strategic framework and advances collaborations with Denver Parks & Recreation, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), and peer cultural organizations to expand public access and community value. She played a key leadership role in the Museum’s pandemic recovery and diversity and inclusion efforts, and she plays an active role in advancing the Museum’s involvement in SCFD reauthorization and regional cultural collaboration.
She recently spearheaded Nature Play, a $7.9 million partnership project with Denver Parks & Recreation, that transformed a historic corner of Denver’s City Park into a nationally recognized, multigenerational outdoor experience shaped through deep community collaboration and co-creation.
Before joining DMNS, Jacqueline developed public and volunteer programs at the Arizona Science Center and the Imaginarium Science Discovery Center in Anchorage, Alaska. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University, completed the Denver Community Leadership Forum, and remains active in regional networks that advance access, learning, and connection across Colorado’s cultural landscape.
