Biennial Festival Roundtable: ANCESTRAL FUTURES

ANCESTRAL FUTURES:

Indigenous Knowledge & Design

This roundtable invites dialogue on how Indigenous artistic practices and ancestral knowledge can inform and inspire conversations across design, retail, and architecture. By exploring intersections between tradition and innovation, participants consider how intercultural exchange can foster more ethical, sustainable, and place-based approaches to making and building.

Through shared reflection on material culture, spatial identity, and creative collaboration, the session aims to uncover pathways for integrating Indigenous perspectives into contemporary practices—encouraging a more connected and regenerative design ecosystem.

Themes: Indigenous Design • Grassroots Curatorial Practice • Ecology • Cultural Continuity • Emerging Voices • Spatial Justice
